The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) has launched a special interest group for members interested in emerging geospatial business opportunities.

Chaired by one of the long-standing leaders of the geospatial sector, Mr Olaf (Ollie) Hedberg, the AIIA geospatial SIG is being managed by AIIA member Ross Caldow, based in Melbourne.

According to AIIA CEO Ms Suzanne Campbell, the SIG organisers intend to influence and respond to the evolution of Commonwealth government spatial policies and will organise seminars to help educate AIIA members about emerging 3D-visual applications of Big Data.
