New South Wales’ Department of Planning and Infrastructure is developing new technical systems to support public online access to more 3D modelling of urban information.

Its Director of ePlanning, John Hudson, aims to host workshops with local government IT leaders early in 2014.

The department has commissioned research from Brisbane-based geospatial urbanist, Richard Simpson, who is CEO of the Spatial Industries Business Association and chair of an international working party on digital cities.
